Yeah. I’m a girl and I’m adding stuff for guys because even though I shop in the Women’s section I also love shopping for stuff for guys. And hey, like I mentioned in an earlier post, I WILL wear a guys’ tee or pair of sneakers. It just seems like the sneakers for guys are so much sharper than ours. Anyway, this is the Cedar Hill V-Neck Tee in Black by RVCA (deep breath) and you can also get this (like so much other gear I post) tee at fave shop, Karmaloop. Just don’t forget to use the Repcode: Oreoscheck87 for 20% off your initial purchase.
G2! G2! G2! Where is it? I’m supposed to get it today. It has said OUT FOR DELIVERY since 9:05 this morning. I don’t think UPS is telling the truth. I live five minutes away from the UPS store. Yes, I all ready ordered it. I had to. I had to order SOMETHING. The phone I have right now, the Mytouch 3G slide isn’t worth the flip it doesn’t have. I hate it. It lives on the charger and dies within 5-10 minutes of not being there. Plus, I just did a Quadrant Benchmark Test (inspired by the G2) and my phone was like a 379 total benchmark score. What? Get outta here. It’s not even on as we speak. Please UPS, hurry up and bring me my phone. You would think I was dying of hunger, here. I’ll probably feel the same way tomorrow waiting on my MBP from Fedex. I have done all the research and this phone is supposed to be great. A lot faster since it’s on the new T-Mobile HSPA network. Is there a plus sign, there? Yeah, I think there’s a plus sign there. +HSPA Network. Lol. Whatever. It’s supposed to be a lot faster than what I’m used to getting on any phone I’ve ever had. The battery life? Not awesome, but I’ll do whatever I can to preserve it. But, it does everything else I like and has a full qwerty keyboard and can take video in HD. So, I’m good. Plus it’s a Google phone, so it’s all ready got all of the applications including a Google Talk function to automate the whole phone. The whole Android experience. Yes. That is what I want. If I’m going to use an operating system, I want the whole thing. Not just a fragment (of random). Now, when’s Gingerbread getting here? Haha. Bye, Guys.
P.S. What’s Froyo? Juuuust kidding. 😛
Ok. I have never owned anything other than a jump drive in the sense of any computer storage or conservation. They work pretty well… if you can keep track of all those little sticks all over the place. And they don’t really hold that much, either. So, I am going for the external hard drive for all those times I created that perfect design or logo and forgot to hit save before Photoshop or Illustrator froze and collapsed (this goes out to all my homies *Tear*). 320 GB, if I really need it. I don’t even need the 4 GB that are coming with the Macbook Pro if I have been able to get by on less that 1 GB for 8 years (7, upgraded to 2.5). #Sheesh. Hashtag. Oh, this isn’t Twitter? Sorry. Aaanyway, working for Apple in the Apple Store, I always told customers the G-Drive, LaCie, and Western Digital were the best. Guess what? I had no idea what I was talking about. I hadn’t USED any of ’em. The reason I picked the one I did was because of its sleekness and noticeable similarity to the Apple laptop casing. As far as quality goes, I’m gonna tell you something about myself. I am the WORST at making quick decisions. I CRACK under pressure. I HATE deadlines. So, I researched… and researched. And if I didn’t stop myself, I could’ve researched myself into oblivion with comments on the product and freakin’ Youtube. Hey, you can look up ANYTHING on Youtube. It’s awesome. 😛 I knew one thing and that thing was that I was getting a goshdarn computer (or at least ordering one) that day with all the accessories I needed AT THE SAME TIME. So, here’s what I got. This is the cutest little portable thing. It’s fast, it looks like an Apple product except for the giant “G” on the front of it, aaaand if it drops on the floor it’ll disassemble like a 1999 Nokia faceplate. All that in mind, I compared other hard drives at the price of $99.95 and didn’t like the other design or the other other’s comments. So, I decided to go with my first choice, the G-Drive in hopes that I or my lovely 3-year-old son never drops the thing on any of our wooden floors.
Yes. I do realize that the image of the open laptop is not an Anti-Glare screen and it probably is not configured the same, either. But, that’s beside the point. I have 2 Macs and this is my third, not counting the one I persuaded my mom to buy about a year ago. One is an old old SLOW not even ON Mac (It does still work, though) that is an eMac that’s as big as a TV (from 1984). When this one was being argumentative, that’s the one I decided to go back to. Thank GOD this one decided to start working again (That one won’t even let me get out of Classic Yahoo Mail). The one I am on currently, is an iMac G5 20″ with iSight from about 2003 that I decided to physically, manually upgrade the ram in. Still runs. Love the color. Can’t upgrade to Snow Leopard… hence the missing Intel Chip. Oh yeah. My mom’s on a 2009 or ’10 iMac. I forget. Back to the point. Considering my desktop is about 8 years old, it is definitely time for a new one. A portable. A Macbook Pro. And it should be here… TOMORROW! Yaaaaayyyyyy!!!! 😛 You guys just don’t know how excited I am. I LOOOVE TECHNOLOGY. And even though I used to work for Apple as a Specialist on the Business Team for a whole year, I never actually owned a notebook at all. I taught workshops on them. I sold them. I didn’t actually carry them around much because they were always tethered to something… unless I was helping a customer on their personal laptop. So, I decided to op for the 15″, keep it at 4GB, get the Core i7, upgrade the RPM from 5400 to 7200 and get the Anti-glare screen (Graphic Designer). I also got AppleCare, of course, and iWork pre-installed. I’ll install cs4 when it gets here and later on purchase Final Cut Express, but I did get a bookbag and a hard drive (You’ll see this stuff in my next posts… if you read them). Here is my concern, though: as with my cell phone that I’m replacing today as soon as UPS decides to adorn my doorstep with its presence, I have a real issue with battery life. Having never used a portable, I have been reading and reading about the proper usage cycles and things to do to prolong battery life. Also, since I upgraded the RPM, I heard that it might either run a little hotter than usual or make a bunch of noise. We’ll see. I just wanted to optimize it as much as possible, so I wouldn’t need a new one for a long long time. As far as Mr. Steve Jobs and his Keynote, I don’t really know what’s in store. But, if Apple is anything like they used to be, they will give the customers who recently purchased new computers and/or software a chance to switch ’em out when the new stuff comes… sayyyy June-ish? Exactly why I’m not buying an iPad at the moment. It can WAIT ’til Summer.
